Brain-Based
and Thinking-Based Teaching
On December 16th, our institution achieved the esteemed "Brain-Friendly School" Silver Award, following the successful completion of the "Neuroscience and Thinking Education Institute Certification."
How to help children achieve a win-win situation
"Win at the starting line" or "Win at the finish line"?!
Our school introduced the "brain science-based teaching method" in 2015. Based on the characteristics of children's brain development, we designed teaching strategies that are in line with brain development, allowing children to interact through cooperative learning and group discussions, thereby enhancing their learning motivation and effectiveness.
According to the different functions of brain structures, different teaching strategies are used, such as 100% participation, physical response, etc., to adjust students' learning status and thus improve learning outcomes.
"Brain-Compatible" Teaching Strategy
Teachers have mastered the "Brain-Compatible" teaching strategy, which has increased children's participation rate and learning motivation in class, and then reconstructed and improved children's higher-order thinking ability. Teachers encourage children to express their opinions through open-ended questions, and guide children to use their existing knowledge to analyze, integrate and evaluate the opinions put forward, thereby developing children's creativity and critical thinking.
Since 2018, the "16 Habits of Mind" teacher training courses have been introduced to integrate the application of habits of mind into the learning process and classroom activities, giving children the opportunity to practice habits of mind and promote their learning outcomes. It is hoped that they will become children who are brave enough to take responsibility, good at communication, innovative and keep learning in the future.
